"Azzurra" Authentic Italian Restaurant - Pizzeria - Enoteca in Railay Beach, Ao Nang

If I could leave more than 5 stars I would! We’ve been coming here for cocktails for a couple of days, they give it in a bamboo cup what you can also take away or bring back for refills and the drinks are delicious!We tried the food today, absolutely fantastic authentic Italian food. It was perfectly seasoned and very tasty, big portions.They should be busier than they were the days we were here, one of the nicest food we had in our two week stay in the area. Thank you 🙏🏼

Absolutely delicious home made cannelloni and a fab gnocchi for my friend. We had a takeaway so don’t be deceived by looks, it was very tasty! Slightly pricey but you pay for what you get and for homemade pasta and a treat it’s definitely worth it :no holding back on the cheese here!

Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina was amazing even as a takeaway! The photo does not do it justice, it was packed with such care and minimal package waste. My friend had a Cannelloni and she grinned after every bite. Truly authentic PastaI will have to come and dine in at some point. I definitely recommend anyone visiting Krabi wanting authentic Italian to come here.

First time eating here and Im surprised.The eggplant parmesan was nice and cheesy. (My first time eating eggplant)The pizza is a thin crust and super crunchy and tasty.I will eat here again next time Im in Krabi. .

We both had pasta and absolutely loved it, very authentic and delicious!

They are open till midnight, and serve fresh pizzas. We asked them to make it super spicy totally worth it. Loved it.

I came here 2 years ago and the food was delicious so I’ve decided to come back! I’ve read so many bad reviews that I don’t really understand, I am Italian and the food is absolutely amazing, I had a pizza and a tagliatelle al ragù, very tasty 😋 ! They also have gluten free options which is rare to find it! 100% Italian and totally recommend it!

I read a lot of bad reviews on TripAdvisor and I was wondering why ?! I’m an Italian food lover and as I travel a lot around Asia I try to find the best Italian food. And this is absolutely the best one! The owner is from Italy and runs this small restaurant with his wife, there were helpfully and polite with us. They also have gluten-free pasta (I ordered the pasta al ragùand my boyfriend ordered a pizza Margherita!And for dessert, I had the gluten-free tiramisu!Everything was so delicious 😋 Absolutely recommended!

After 3weeks in Thailand, we needed a break from Asian cuisine. Weve eaten some pizza during our trip but have never encountered a better one than what we ate in Azzurra. Gnocchi, pasta, crepes and tiramisu were also the bomb (however, the biscuits could be soaked just a little bit more but thats just my preference;)The prices might appear a little high, especially in comparison to Thai dishes around but thats understandable because of the cost of ingridients that are not popular here. And the portions are big and full filling!All four of us love Italy to bits, been there several times and both - the food and the owner - really give off Italian vibe that leaves you feeling taken care of, happy and full!Definitely worth visiting! Been there twice and will come back when in Ao Nang again!🇵🇱☀️🍝

Im italian and I dont understand all the bad reviews from some clients.I ate a pizza "quattro stagioni" and it was very good. The Pizza is traditional "napolitano". Its true that in most parts of Italy and especially in the rest of Europe the pizza is made differently. Some has a thinner dough and arent that crusty, like the traditional recipe from Napoli. Surely the traditional pizza does not like everyone.I didnt try la carbonara, but Im pretty sure he makes it with guanciale and pecorino (as it should be).The owner is a nice person. He greets everyone with "Buona Sera" and we had a nice little chat in italiano (naturalmente).Over all, people should stop complaining in things they dont understand.The owners could make the pizza more "european", the pasta less "al dente" and the carbonara with cream.It would be maybe more popular in a place like the very crowded Ao Nang Beach, but that would not be traditional Italian, and Im sure the owner is proud of his business-strategy in being traditional.It is a little pricey, but you certainly also pay for the location, the great view and for the covered table (la coperta). If the owners start to put Grissini nella coperta and maybe a grappa afterwards and/or some chocolate-candies for the kids, the price would be more justified.I recommend everyone to try this ristorante. If you dont like it tell the waiters or the boss what you didnt liked. Im sure you can negotiate a realistic compromise.Also the owner should learn to be less offended by bad google-critics.Its like I said before, he is a proud Italian man, like all Italians are. Eating good food is one of the most important things for us, and youll get that feeling when you are in this Restaurant. Viva lItalia

A comforatble restaurant located along Aonang beach.. good italian food. The Vegetariana pizza we ordered was just perfect. The Penne Arraibita pasta we ordered was a little undeecooked but tasted delicious. We sat for good time.. enjoying our meals and drinks.

Came here the other night and got food poisoning. Ordered a cheese pizza. Wasnt good tasting at all. The pizza is a step down from Pizza Company. I should have went there. The most simplest item on the menu. Owner was also yelling at customers saying that he hated Chinese people, yelling in the couples face. Very rude and arrogant owner. Please dont come here. Stay away! Just got out of hospital

It makes me really sad to see all the bad reviews here which is why we are doing ours now. (while we are Sitting in this Restaurant with the beautiful view). Of course we didnt „Go to Thailand“ to eat italian Food, but After being sick, I really needed some soulfood.I looked for pizza in Ao Nang and found a lot of Places and we Decided to Go here because it was very close to our Hotel-Shuttle Drop off and because what the owner Wrote By answering the reviews sounded like we would find our soulfood here. What can i Say? We did! We couldnt decide what to eat which is why we ordered 2 Pizzas + Spaghetti Carbonara and Both of us had Bruschetta before.. 😂😂😂 I KNOW... A LOT... - BUT IT WAS SO GOOD. You can taste all the fresh ingriedients. The Pizza was one of the best ones I ever ate. The fresh Sauce, the crispy Crust, the perfectly melted Cheese and the italian Salami..... mhhhhhh The Prices are TOTALLY Fine as there are Manymanymany Quality-Import Products in the meals (real italian Salami and so on). The Salt on the Table was also fabulos (i eat too Salty Unfortunately, but the quality Salt made my foods Perfect for me! ❤️)I am so sad this place is not in My neighborhood In Germany where I live. I am so happy that this Place Exists. And even though we didnt come here for pizza. We will come eat here one more Time before we Leave.

"I have a problem with Indian people...."This is what the owner screamed into my face while I was waiting outside to be seated with my husband and my baby. We walked away to grab a bite peacefully in a place that didnt have issues with Indian people. But I came back after an hour and confronted the owner about what he had said. He complained about some Indians who ordered too little while occupying too many seats. Dear Sir, just to give you a little education, India is an extremely large country, more than twenty five times the size of your own. There are all kinds of people in India, just like there are all kinds of people in Italy. If you are going to judge an entire country because of one experience youve had, I really dont have much to say to you. But I want to let you know that we had four fantastic Italian meals at a wonderful Italian restaurant near Kata Beach called +39 Italian street food. It is run by a kind Italian couple who are warm, friendly and wonderful, just like their food. We havent lost our faith in Italy or Italian people because of our experience in your restaurant. But its important that other Indian people know how you feel about us as a country. Well do you a huge favor and stay away from your restaurant.

Good to try pasta, more authentic. Not the pizza, not done with fire wood oven. You also did not get the light, thin crispy crust like you have in Italy. Overall great picturesque and ambience in restaurant.

Continuity assured!The daughter from Azzurra was running the shop yesterday evening, Khun Mickey. She was all over the place and swiftly guiding new guests to their a table as well as following up the service which was prompt and efficient. The two other girls Nam and Kim were helping to provide a professional service. But the food was as good as the service! We went for only homemade pastas and Gnocchi. Rarely had such a good taste of Italian homemade pasta outside of Italy......So congrats to kitchen team M, Bao and Pid. Mister Franco you can sure that your Restaurant Azzurra is in very good hands with the next generation! Bravisimo !!!!!

The perfect spot if youre after a little break from Asian food. I had the diavola pizza and crab ravioli. Both were delicious but the crab ravioli was really something special!!! Plump morsels with generous amounts of crab filling in a squid ink ravioli. Drooling just thinking about it and its only 6am 💦

Though the food was good but our entire experience was spoiled by the treatment we were given. Initially we asked for 2 minutes for placing the order but once placed we waited for over 35 minutes without our food. This was while others seated after us got theirs. While we checked for the status, the owner was too rude to respond and said that we “just” placed the order and he is “prioritising “ ours because of kids now. Very rude and unprofessional

Ate at Azzurras on 12/30/2018 at sunset. The view was wonderful followed by a scrumptious dinner. Service was great. Expensive, yes, by Thai standards but well worth it. Still less than US standards for the quality and quantity served.

It was a bad experience as the host was very impolite, he wanted us to order 10 food items and 10 drinks and few starters. We wanted to order only 6 Piza , two snacks and six drinks. He refused to serve and worst was his arrogance and impoliteness. 👎👎👎

The pizza was really good. Restaurant was a bit quiet but this may have been due to us being there after 10pm. They close at 11. They have an extensive menu and the staff are friendly. A little pricey but I guess you pay a bit extra as the location is right on the beach

Good Italian restaurant in Krabi along the seaside. We enjoyed fresh pasta and fried calamari.

Although the place and the service are ok, unfortunately the food is not. I had their pizza and an Italian salad, and both were tastless.

Too say its horrible is in overstatement. But I did not enjoy their pizza. Maybe their other dishes are more authentic Italian but for pizza I will not eat here again. Service was good and friendly though.

Most authentic Italian ever. In fact I came back here just to have the Italian. The Thai food in Krabi is lackluster and serves only touristy dishes which lack flavor so an authentic Italian is a welcomed change!

Great place. From the outside it might not look like a authentic restaurant but let me assure you it is ver good. Food (pizza and pastawas amazing and I can compart to some very good itilian restaurants elsewhere. Very good for being in Thailand.

Almost 20 years in Aonang, make Azzurra the oldest, authentic Italian restaurant. The experience and the passion of the owner Franco and his attention in the choice of the products guarantee delicious dishes in the respect of Italian tradition.

Place was packed and the food was good. Had the bruschetta to start which was wonderful. Then ordered a pizza, pretty darn good Italian food for being in Thailand.

You should definitely go there if you are tired of local food and want to have something special! Its not cheap, true, but it worth it 100%! High level of food quality and service. And dont miss desserts menu! Affogato with espresso is highly recommended!As a bonus, there is no 3% commission for card payment.Bellissimo!

Had a wonderful time at Azzurra. Generous portions and authentic Italian food. My fiancé’s family is from Italy and she was very happy with how real Italian the food was. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was also completely packed when we were there and everyone was very friendly. Great attention from the owner as well! It is more expensive than some of the other places in Krabi but the huge portions and delicious food make it worth it. A similar meal in most other places in the world would be double or triple that price! Would highly recommend if you like good pasta.

A shame to call it self italian. A green salad with onions and a spoon full of tuna for 280?A pizza that was the worst ever I had. Didnt finish it. No flavor whatsoever. How can you make a pizza without any taste?!? Avoid. I couldnt even see the Italian manager there to voice my opinion. Too bad.Ill change review to 2 stars. Staff was nice and there was bread served and olive oil.

Not joking, but this is the best Italian Ive ever had outside of Italy. Its run by a lovely dedicated Italian guy who wants to bring a bit of Italy to Thailand.Well worth a visit even if you find it hard to tear yourself away from all that Thai food.Should I mention that they make their own cheeses?!?
